Food is essential for us to survive. From food we get energy to work, nutrients to grow or a repair and its helps us to maintain our immune system. But if this food is impure, contaminated or adulterated then it can be poisonous enough to cause diseases or even death. Some immoral businessman use harmful chemicals in food to make it colorful, which makes them attractive but unhealthy. Others are uses high doses of preservatives like formalin which is very harmful for human body. Some fruits and vegetables are rapidly ripened using carbide or other chemicals. Some hotels use petrol or diesel to fry food items to make them crispy.

These adulterations of food can cause stomach problems, liver or kidney failure and numerous other health hazards. The government should strictly monitor the production, preservation, presentation and distribution process of food items and ingredients. Recently food inspectors have been deployed and many were punished for food adulteration. Punishing would not solve the overall problem. We need to make the businessman and customers aware about the deadly effects of food adulteration. It is necessary to change the morality and mentality of people for long lasting resolution of this problem. We hope the authority, businessmen and buyers would realize the threat and take effective steps to stop adulteration of food items.
